Arrested Development: An Update on Arrest and Conviction Record Discrimination Law

August 13, 2024

12:00pm-1:00pm

We welcome Jesse Dill and Brian Radloff from Ogletree Deakins as this month's featured WisHHRA webinapresenters.

Wisconsin is one of the few states that prohibits discrimination on the basis of arrest or conviction record. In the recent past, Wisconsin courts have actively addressed numerous claims and issued opinions significantly changing how this law applies to the workplace. This presentation will refresh attendees on the law and update on the recent changes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review arrest and conviction record claims and defenses under the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act
  • Update on recent case law changes
  • Cover best practices for addressing circumstances when an arrest or conviction record may impact an employment decision.

Webinar participants are eligible to receive 1 SHRM professional development credit (PDC)

WisHHRA is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP® recertification activities.
