Heather has been an HR professional for over 20 yrs working as an HR manager, OD consultant and Manager of Talent Acquisition. In her current TA Program Manager role she gets to collaborate with others interested in teaming to provide upskilling opportunities & programs. She enjoys creating the vessel to help others enter into their own healthcare career while breaking down barriers that may have stopped them from pursuing healthcare previously.
Craig brings 15 years of experience working with people both in business and in healthcare. Talent Acquisition played a major part of his role as Patient Experience Manager at Gundersen Health System, which is now Emplify Health. Overseeing more than 60 staff over the six years he spent in that role honed his leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills. Craig brings energy to the workplace and gets joy out of tackling challenges and trying new untested approaches, while having fun along the way. Making the shift to Talent Acquisition officially three years ago, Craig has collaborated with external and internal partners, in tandem with Heather, to produce measurable results for a variety of Training programs that have, historically, been harder to fill.
Annette Caraulia, MSODA, is the Director of Organizational Development for the Medical College of Wisconsin. With over 23 years of professional experience, Annette has worked in multiple industries including banking, logistics, manufacturing, for profit and not for profit health care, and academic medicine. Her passion is building high performing organizational development functions that support the mission, vision, and values of the business. At MCW, she leads a team responsible for culture by identifying and embedding behavior-based values throughout the organization and overall engagement processes, maturing the performance and talent processes, ensuring a strong development framework is in place with learning accessible to all, and infusing a change management methodology into the organization.
Brad Johnson is past president of the Great River Human Resources Association located in the Quad Cities and is a popular speaker on employee benefit issues. In his 30+ year career in benefits, he has served in a variety of roles including insurance underwriter, benefit analyst, company founder, as well as author of various benefit studies. Most importantly, Brad enjoys using humor and his unique presenting style to make the complex world of benefits simple, understandable, and ideally – interesting!
With nearly 10 years in the investment/financial services industry, Chris’s experience allows him to work closely with individuals and participants assessing their financial risks and planning for their future. Chris also works closely with plan sponsors, guiding them with support for their retirement plan decisions. This includes annual plan reviews, plan design analysis, investment monitoring, plan fee benchmarking, plan provider analysis, and strategic employee education. Ann has served the Wisconsin Hospital Association as Vice President of Workforce and Clinical Practice since June 2017. As a member of WHA’s Government Relations (GR) team, Ann acts as the lead staff person in the critical areas of workforce development and clinical practice. This position also functions within the GR advocacy team to educate and inform WHA staff and members about health care and hospital related issues. Prior to joining WHA, Ann’s greater than 30+ years’ experience in health care included patient care and leadership roles across hospitals, clinics, and long-term care--including nursing, quality improvement, risk management, and utilization review. Ann holds Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Viterbo University and a Masters in Health Administration from Ohio University.
Brenna Vargas is an attorney in Quarles’ Milwaukee office. She advises employers and human resources professionals across a wide range of industries on an array of labor and employment issues. Her counsel covers Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal, state and local fair employment and anti-discrimination issues.
